Death on the Nile, the sequel to 2017's Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express has just released its first trailer, and the cast list is still brilliant – and director and star Kenneth Branagh's accent is still ridiculous.
This time around, Hercule Poirot is on a luxury cruise on the River Nile, when an extravagant honeymoon turns tragic. Is it an act of revenge? Of jealousy? There will be plenty of typically Christie twisty moments as the legendary detective finds his murderer.
While the plot and stunning locales in the trailer are enticing, it's that cast that we're really excited about. Let's go through who we've got, shall we?
There's Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, Black Panther's Letitia Wright, The Social Network's Armie Hammer, Captain Marvel's Annette Bening, Victoria & Abdul's Ali Fazal, Christopher Robin's Sophie Okonedo, Sex Education's Emma Mackey, Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie, comedians Russell Brand, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, and Tom Bateman returning from the last film. Phew!
Currently, the film is on track to release in cinemas in October. Films have been experimenting with being released to VoD (Video on Demand) services either alongside or in lieu of a cinematic release, but it looks like this one is debuting strictly on the big screen.
Kenneth Branagh has been quite the busy man lately. As well as starring in and directing Nile, he directed the Artemis Fowl movie that came out earlier this year (and made some striking changes), and starred in Christopher Nolan's mind-bending new movie Tenet.
