There's nothing better than tuning in to a concert from the comfort of your own couch — especially when the lineup features celebs such as Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Shakira, and Usher. If those names made your ears perk, then you're in for a treat. On Saturday, June 27 at 8 p.m. EST, Global Citizen will host Global Goal: Unite for Our Future, a concert featuring international artists, comedians, and leaders in government and science.
Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the virtual event will include performances by the artists listed above, as well as J Balvin, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, the Original Broadway Cast of HAMILTON, and more. There will be appearances by Chris Rock, Angela Merkel, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Emmanuel Macron, Billy Porter, Melinda Gates, and others.
The program will be a call to action for the development and equitable distribution of COVID-19 treatments for everyone, everywhere, and will highlight the disproportionate impact that the virus has had on marginalized communities, including people of color, those living in extreme poverty, and others facing discrimination.
