A 17-month-old girl and a man, 50, have died in a crash between two vehicles in Lancashire.
Police said the pair were in a white Land Rover Discovery that collided with a Mini Cooper and then hit a tree in the village of Tarleton.
The toddler and man were both declared dead at the scene.
It happened on Hesketh Lane, near the junction with Oaklands Avenue, just before 8.30am on Sunday.
The driver of the Mini was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Sergeant Matt Davidson, of Lancashire Constabulary's serious collision investigation unit, said: "These are terribly sad and tragic circumstances that have resulted in a man and a young girl losing their lives this morning.
"Our thoughts are very much with their loved ones at this awful time."
The force has appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward to help with the investigation.
