Toddler Gives Herding Sheep a Fairy Tale Twist at New Zealand Farm

A two-year-old girl wearing a fairy costume was filmed by her mother as she ran after a flock of sheep in the shadow of a stunning mountainous background in New Zealand.

The video, shared by Ashleigh Williams to Instagram on July 16, shows her toddler daughter with her back to the camera, holding a shepherd’s stick and standing fiercely in front a flock of sheep in the Hakataramea Valley.

While Williams can be heard trying to get the child’s attention, the little girl instead starts running towards the flock.

Williams told Storyful that her daughter, Lara Georgiana, was nearly three years old when the footage was taken. “She is a fifth-generation sheep farmer,” she said, adding that the child was “very much into fairies and princesses” and always wanted to wear a tutu and carry a wand.

“Or, in this case,” she said, “a stick.” Credit: Ashleigh Williams via Storyful
