Retailers in 89 of Tennessee’s 95 counties were allowed to reopen on April 29 at 50 percent capacity, following the state’s coronavirus lockdown, Gov Bill Lee said.
Salons and barbershops will be allowed to reopen on May 6, local media reported.
In this video, Bonnie Esslinger, owner of Bleu 32, a vintage shop in Columbia, Tennessee, can be seen singing as she carries an “open” sidewalk sign outside. She wrote “Today is the day! Welcome back, people!” in the caption.
Esslinger told Storyful that the state was not requiring people to wear masks, but the store was adhering to strict social-distancing guidelines and had put signs up in the store alerting people to the shopping rules. Credit: Bleu 32 Vintage Marketplace via Storyful
