Tina Fey Urges Bowen Yang To “Learn From Ayo” Edebiri And Avoid Podcast Insults, Ayo Agrees

The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri has once again addressed her imprudent remarks on Jennifer Lopez during a podcast chat from her younger days.

The latest development follows Edebiri hosting Saturday Night Live with musical guest Lopez. During a sketch, Edebiri made a seeming apology for running her mouth on Lopez’s talents. The remarks resurfaced just before their joint SNL appearance, making for an awkward situation.

“It’s wrong to leave mean comments, or post comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact ’cause you’re 24 and stupid!,” Edebiri said in the sketch. “But I think I speak for everyone when I say, from now on, we’re gonna be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online!”

Edebiri’s newest comment on that awkward situation came on SNL cast member Bowen Yang’s Instagram page. Yang posted a segment from his and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast, wherein Tina Fey brought up Edebiri’s gaffe during the recurring segment, “I Don’t Think So, Honey!”

Fey started by telling Yang that he’s too famous to be giving his actual opinions about movies on his podcast.

“Are you having a problem with Saltburn? Quiet luxury. Keep it to yourself,” Fey said. “Because what are you going to do when [Saltburn director] Emerald Fennell calls you about her next project where you play Carey Mulligan’s coworker in the bridal section of Harrods, and then Act 3 takes a sexually violent turn, and you have to pretend to be surprised by that turn?… Learn from my mistakes, learn from Ayo. Podcasts are forever. Authenticity is dangerous and expensive.”

“LEARN FROM ME,” Edebiri agreed in a comment underneath the clip.

Predictably, it set off a flurry of comments on social media.
