Timelapse Shows Smoke Billowing From Washburn Fire in Yosemite National Park

A wildfire burning in California’s Yosemite National Park had spread across 2,720 acres on July 11, fire authorities said.

The Washburn Fire was 25 percent contained as of Monday afternoon, Yosemite Fire and Aviation reported. More than 500 firefighters were working to control the blaze.

According to officials, firefighters are prioritizing the protection of the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias.
