Timelapse Shows La Palma Volcano Ash Plume at Dawn

Smoke continued to rise from the Cumbre Vieja volcano at dawn on the Spanish island of La Palma on September 23, timelapse footage by Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology showed.

The lava from the volcano had destroyed 400 buildings and was endangering more on September 23, El Pais reported.

Thousands of people have been evacuated, and firefighters have been attempting by various means to divert the damaging flow of lava away from houses, TeleCinco said.
