Timelapse Footage Shows Smoke Billowing From Rapidly-Growing Oak Fire
The fast-spreading Oak Fire in Mariposa County, California, had burned 11,900 acres by Saturday night, July 23, officials said.
The fire triggered evacuations and road closures and spread throughout residential areas, according to officials.
Timelapse footage published by ALERTWildfire show smoke billowing from the Oak Fire late on Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday.
The fire was zero percent contained as of Saturday night and had damaged five structures and destroyed 10, CALFIRE said. Over 2,000 personnel equipped with 225 engines and 17 helicopters were working to diminish the blaze, the agency reported. Credit: ALERTWildfire via Storyful
