Timelapse Footage Shows Apple Fire as Blaze Reaches Over 27,000 Acres

The Apple Fire burning east of Los Angeles grew to over 27,000 acres, and was 30 percent contained as of August 5.

CAL Fire said the fire was caused by burning carbon emitted from a vehicle’s malfunctioning diesel engine.

Footage posted by Alameda County Fire on August 4 shows large smoke clouds rising from the Apple Fire.
