Timelapse Footage Captures Severe Storm Rolling Through Denver

Thunderstorms rolled through Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, August 7, causing flooding across the city and forcing the city to shut down a major highway in the area, according to the Denver Office of Emergency Management.

Local news reports said the Denver Fire Department reported rescuing 11 people from Interstate 70, but no injuries were reported.

This footage captured by Twitter user @okiedodger shows clouds building up over Denver before a sheet of rain descends upon the city.

Other social media users also posted images of the storm’s impact, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of heavy rainfall and flash flooding in the area.
