Timelapse footage, uploaded on Tuesday, December 22, captured volcanic debris spewing from the crater of Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island.
This footage, posted to Instagram by Marlon Utrera, shows smoke, illuminated orange by lava, billowing from the volcano.
The volcano, the most active of the volcanoes that make up Hawaii, erupted on December 20.
By December 22, lava continued to flow into a growing lava lake, which was 470 feet deep at the time of writing. Credit: Marlon Utrera/@marlondogeman via Storyful
