"Mom always gets me there early,” Elizabeth said as the father daughter duo fought over who's more on time. “I’m always here before makeup,” Tim fired back
The pair are teaming up for season 2 of The Santa Clauses, the Disney+ series set nearly 30 years after 1994's The Santa Clause that follows Allen's Scott Calvin as he struggles to balance his duties as Father Christmas with his responsibilities as an actual father.
The new series not only promises to put a merry twist on the original film's story, it will also spark nostalgia in fans of the original franchise with the returns of as several cast members. Additionally, Elizabeth and actor Austin Kane are joining the show afresh, with Elizabeth making her on-screen debut as one of her real-life dad's TV daughters.
In PEOPLE's exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, the actors get into the Christmas spirit by gifting each other with on-set superlatives.
Tim, 70, starts off the game by asking, “Who is more likely to forget their lines: You or me?”
Without any hesitation, the 14-year-old names her father, but gives him grace when she notes that he “always” adds “value to the scripts” by ad-libbing his dialogue.
“Technically you don't really forget your lines,” she smiles before moving onto the next question: “Who is more likely to be early to set?”
“Me,” Tim declares until he sees the shocked look on Elizabeth's face and switches his answer. “Or you,” he says with a side eye.
When she tries to protest, claiming that “mom always gets me there early,” the Toy Story alum stands his ground and notes, “I’m always here before makeup.”
“You do get there early,” Elizabeth concedes with a laugh, as Tim fires back with a shrug, “Kind of what I said.”
The budding young actress is then awarded most likely to call for the help of Jane Hajduk, the pair's wife and mother. And the Home Improvement star is named most likely to “steal sweet snacks from crafty.”
As far as who’s “more likely to wake up first on Christmas morning,” Tim confesses how he loves to feign ignorance and “pretend like I don’t care.”
"Ah, oh God, what day is it?” he says , acting out waking up from his sleep. “Oh look at that, it’s Christmas.”
“It’s magic, people,” he smiles.
While speaking to PEOPLE in October 2022, Tim opened up about the emotional reunion he had with his former costars when filming season 1.
"To be on set again with so many of the original cast (more to come eventually) was like seeing family again," he said at the time. "It's almost as if time had stood still other than my age. I look younger now in the Santa makeup than I do out of it."
Ahead of filming, Tim also revealed that he gave his daughter some special advice about the importance of teamwork on set. "The advice I gave to my daughter Elizabeth is that the writers, producers and crew have the most important roles on a production," he recalled. "Being an actor is a wonderful craft, but we are just a part of a teamwork experience."
