Tiffany Tang unfazed by Magnolia Awards' loss

1 Jul - Despite losing Best Actress at the Magnolia Awards, Tiffany Tang is still happy to be nominated at all.

As reported on Phoenix, the actress, who was the favourite to win for her performance in the Wong Kar Wai drama, "Blossoms Shanghai", lost the accolade to Zhou Xun, who won for "Imperfect Victim".

Speaking to the media backstage, Tiffany said that it was a great honour for her to be a part of "Blossoms Shanghai".

"I am very grateful especially to director Wong Kar Wai, as well as my colleagues [in the drama]. We have a bright future ahead and I will continue to see you in the arena," she said.

It is noted that Tiffany's co-star Hu Ge did succeed in winning Best Actor at the awards.

Earlier in the day, when asked about her chance of winning, she said, "Nomination means recognition! Everyone present here today is an excellent actor. No matter who wins the award, I am happy for them and it is worth celebrating!"

Meanwhile, this is the second time Zhou Xun won the accolade, having won it in 2015 for "Red Sorghum".
