Tiffany Haddish gives as good as she gets online.

While speaking to the Los Angeles Times ahead of the release of her new memoir, I Curse You with Joy (out May 7), Haddish, 44, revealed she's learned how to hit back at negative comments.

The Girls Trip actress said she would block certain phrases — including “setback,” “pedo” and “not funny” — on Instagram last year, and even hired a digital forensics analyst who confirmed 75% of the death threats she'd been receiving had been created by robots in Malaysia and Iran.

Haddish went one step further by creating a fake Instagram account going by the name of Sarah with the aim to "destroy" anyone sending hate her way by finding out information about them.

“I’ve learned how to find people’s information — like I pull up the credit report, police records. You can do that for $1.99,” Haddish told the outlet, adding, “Sometimes, I get so mad that I’ll get they phone number and I’ll just call them.”

Revealing she has "called people" in the past, Haddish went on, “They be shocked that I called. They’ll be like, ‘I can’t believe you even saw that.’ You did a whole video, b----! You made a full, five-minute video! On the internet, people think they can just say whatever and you not gonna say anything. I try my best not to, but I’m a human being.”

Haddish told the outlet that she receives a lot of comments referencing the lawsuit she faced in 2022 regarding a resurfaced 2014 Funny or Die skit featuring her and comedian Aries Spears. The skit involved minors and jokes about sexual innuendo, and one of the actors filed a suit alleging child sexual abuse. Haddish insisted she wasn’t involved in the creative process or the scenes in question and the suit has since been dropped.

Despite still having a huge fanbase, Haddish told the L.A. Times that someone “of status” recently asked her, “Is your mental health okay? Your name is always in the headlines. You said this, you said that. All I see is people attacking you. It’s like, ‘Oh, don’t get too close to Tiffany. I’m going to get attacked too.’ ”

Among the controversies, Haddish was also arrested in Georgia on suspicion of DUI in January 2022 following the death of her beloved grandmother. She faced another DUI arrest last November in Los Angeles after cops found her asleep in her car in the middle of an intersection in Beverly Hills.

While speaking to PEOPLE in April, Haddish admitted, “My world fell apart.” However, she's now "genuinely happy" after cutting out alcohol and sex.

“I’m very sober,” she said. “I haven’t had a drink since [the incident]. When I sit back and look at my life, everything that’s crazy that’s happened is because somebody or myself had alcohol in their system.”

Haddish told PEOPLE of being celibate as well as sober, "They went together. With alcohol [my mind] would just be like ‘You’re horny, let's just do it.’" Now, she says, "I be like, 'Nah, nope.' "
