Ticket sales for Jay Chou’s China concert yet to start but accommodations near concert venue are fully booked

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Tickets to King of Mandopop Jay Chou’s concert at Haikou City, Henan Province have yet to be sold but accommodation prices for hotels near the concert venue have increased by over 300 per cent.

Chou had announced that he would be having a three-day concert there from June 30 and as soon as the news broke, a hotel near the venue increased its price from 965 yuan (RM618) to 2,805 yuan (RM1,798), setn.com reported.

Even flight tickets to the city also reported a 174 per cent increase following the concert announcement, which is part of Chou’s Carnival World Tour.

According to 8World.com, the concert would be held at Wuyuanhe Stadium.

Accommodations that normally charge 195 yuan (RM125) also took the opportunity of Chou’s concert to raise its prices to 833 yuan (RM534).

There are reports that accommodations near the stadium had been completely sold out even before sale of concert tickets begin.

The concert is Taiwanese singer-songwriter’s eighth edition which coincide with the multi award-winning singer’s 20 years in the music business.
