Tia Mowry Reveals the One Thing She Still Remembers About First Day on “Sister, Sister ”Set, 30 Years Ago (Exclusive)
Tia Mowry and twin Tamera starred in the series from 1994 to 1999
Tia Mowry will never forget how Sister, Sister changed her life.
The actress, 45, recently recalled the momentous occasion while chatting with PEOPLE about her part in Walmart+'s 'Mother of All Savings' campaign.
Asked about a memorable moment from the series' run after celebrating the show's 30th anniversary earlier this month, Mowry tells PEOPLE how "the first episode was a dream come true."
"As a child actor, to be able to get the opportunity for your dreams to come true at such a young age was so amazing and wonderful," she says.
Mowry recalls the first time the cast sat down together for a table read on set — and the one thing she'll remember most.
"I'm looking at the script, and it says Sister, Sister on it. Then you open the script, and it'll start to list the cast. It said 'Tia Landry—Tia Mowry,' and that was when everything just became so real," she recalls.
"As a child, you always have dreams and you're working towards your goals and your dreams. When you actually see that come into fruition, it's just so rewarding and I feel so blessed to be able to get that opportunity at such a young age."

Mowry says she still benefits from her Sister, Sister experience as an actress today.
"I feel like it's really helped me with my career now. Whenever I'm going through challenges or struggles, or whatever it is, I can always go back and say, 'You know what, Tia? If you were able to do it then, you can do it now.' "
Enjoying it beside her sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, was "just an amazing experience to have at such a young age," the actress says.
"To be able to do it with a family member was so special. It was like a party every day on set. It was such a blessing and we were so blessed to have such an amazing supporting cast. There were no divas or anything like that. It was genuinely great."
As part of her partnership with Walmart+, Mowry and a few other celebrity moms will chat with fans live on TikTok and lend their best mom advice and hacks for navigating with a full plate.
"I'm excited about doing this really, really fun live on Walmart's TikTok, where I get to connect with moms and share some of my tips and tricks that I learned while navigating motherhood."
Mowry adds, "I truly feel that I constantly ask for support and advice from my circle of moms and my community of moms. We all know that it takes a village. So it's awesome that Walmart+ is just getting me and some other moms together to answer some real mom questions so we can all help each other out."
You can catch Tia Mowry, as well moms Paris Hilton, Whitney Cummings, Kat Stickler, Aislinn Derbez and Barbara "Babs" Costello on TikTok answering real moms' questions and discussing their favorite hacks for every stage of motherhood on April 23 and 24.
