Day 2 of The International 11 (TI11) Main Event on Friday (21 October) saw Western Europe dominate the upper bracket while the last representatives for Southeast Asia and North America were sent home.

The day kicked off in the upper bracket with a clash between two powerhouses of Western Europe, with Tundra Esports emerging victorious over OG. China's Team Aster then knocked Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) winner Team Liquid down to the lower bracket.

Fans of two regions had their hearts broken by Day 2's lower bracket results. North America's Evil Geniuses (EG) were booted from TI11 by South America's Beastcoast while Southeast Asia's BOOM Esports ended their run after falling to Chinese favourites PSG.LGD.

Here's what went down in all the matches in Day 2 of TI11's Main Event.

Upper bracket round 1

Tundra Esports 2-0 OG

As the top seed of Group B, Tundra proved they were worthy contenders for the Aegis of Champions by soundly sweeping OG, 2-0, to advance to the upper bracket semifinals.

Tundra came out swinging to start the series and took game one in just 24 minutes and with a 26-7 kill lead. While OG put up a much better fight in game two, they were still routed after 38 minutes of action and got knocked down to the lower bracket.

Team Aster 2-0 Team Liquid

With PSG.LGD down in the lower bracket after losing to Team Secret in Day 1, it was up to Team Aster to carry the banner for China in the upper bracket. They did not disappoint, as they won back-to-back 42-minute games to meet Tundra in the upper bracket semifinals.

Game one was a close affair until the midgame, when Aster started running over Liquid in pivotal teamfights. Du "Monet" Peng on Sniper then notched 15 kills against just one death to lead the Chinese team to their first win of the series.

Game two was a similar story to game one, though Aster only pulled ahead come the late game behind Monet's Terrorblade. Aster's carry player closed out the series by putting up a clean eight-kill performance.

Lower bracket round 2

Beastcoast 2-0 Evil Geniuses

After their promising start in the Group Stage was spoiled by their loss to Thunder Awaken in Day 1, EG looked to bounce back as they faced another South American team in Beastcoast in the lower bracket.

It seemed like North America's last hope tried whatever they could to get their mojo back, as Artour "Arteezy" Babaev shaved his head in a bid to gain the 'bald buff' that previously worked wonders for Team Spirit and BOOM Esports.

The bald buff didn't work for Arteezy, as EG was knocked out by Beastcoast in back-to-back stomps. Game one was a 36-minute drubbing, with Adrián "Wisper" Dobles on Mars notching 15 kills against two deaths to pace his team's 40-14 kill lead.

Arteezy put up a valiant last stand in game two, getting 10 kills against just one death in the loss that capped off yet another disappointing run at TI for EG.

PSG.LGD 2-0 BOOM Esports

The day closed with TI10 finalists PSG.LGD seemingly getting back into championship form by putting a stop to BOOM Esports, who were still fresh from their upset over TI10 champions Team Spirit in Day 1.

PSG.LGD had a flying start to the series, winning game one in just under 30 minutes and with a 15-4 kill lead. BOOM put up a much better fight in game two, but could do little to stop the Chinese juggernauts from securing the 2-0 series sweep after 34 minutes of action.

Day 3 of TI11's Main Event will kick off with an all-Western European affair in the lower bracket. OG will take on Gaimin Gladiators while Team Liquid will be facing Entity.

The action will then move to the upper bracket, where two of the tournament's Top 3 teams will be determined. Team Secret will go up against Thunder Awaken while Tundra Esports will go head-to-head with Team Aster.

TI11 will be hosted in Singapore from 15 to 30 October and features a revamped format and a longer schedule.

TI11's Main Event will be a double-elimination bracket and is split into two phases, the first being held from 20 to 23 October while the second will take place from 29 to 30 October.
