Thunderstorms Bring Lightning and Heavy Rain to New Orleans
A heavy band of thunderstorms hit New Orleans and surrounding areas on Thursday, April 15, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph were expected, with torrential rainfall and even a small chance of hail, the NWS said.
More than a dozen streets in New Orleans were flooded by the rain, NOLA.com reported.
