These #throwback bands are coming to Singapore in 2023 and there’s a sound for everyone

If you think the concert announcements are going to stop after Backstreet Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kehlani and Blue, you’re wrong.

For those who are just a little indie or “alternative”: bossa nova-acoustic-pop darlings Kings of Convenience, mumblecore-rock bros Cigarettes After Sex and acapella pop group Pentatonix will be hitting the stage in Singapore next year.

Up first is Cigarettes After Sex who are performing at Capitol Theatre on Feb. 1, 2023. The quartet are known for their ambient and sensual sound and is particularly big with the TikTok crowd for hits like Apocalypse, K., and Sweet. The band’s music gathered quite a niche following online when they released the first single Affection in 2015.

Tickets start from S$108 and will be available online on Nov. 10.

Pick and choose your gig on Mar. 6, 2023 as both Kings Of Convenience and Pentatonix are taking the stage on the same night.

From Norway, Kings of Convenience will return to Singapore after 10 years and take the stage at Capitol Theatre. The duo became popular in the early 2000s with favourites like I’d Rather Dance With You, I Don’t Know What I Can Save You From and Cayman Islands. They recently released an album in 2021 titled Peace Or Love.

Tickets start from S$99 and will be available online on Nov. 11.

Over at the Star Theatre, the acapella powerhouse Pentatonix will get the crowd singing along to their version of popular and familiar songs. The show is part of their Asian leg of the world tour which will also stop at Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya.
