Three hurt in Cameron Highlands chopper crash

IPOH, October 26 — Three people were seriously injured after a helicopter believed to be carrying Health Ministry personnel crashed near the De Garden Enterprise, located in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said there were six people aboard, including the pilot, when it crashed at around 1.15pm today.

“We received the distress call at 2.06pm. Initial reports revealed that the pilot did not sustain any injuries, while the other two men suffered mild injuries.

“However, the three women, including a doctor, sustained serious injuries,” the spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesman said that efforts to rescue the victims were ongoing.

It is learnt that the helicopter departed from Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here to Brinchang and had been carrying medical staff and equipment to the highlands.
