It’s no secret that we’re forever swooning over the real-life fairytale that is Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins. While we’ve gotten a peek into their sweet marriage, Thomas’ unreleased songs, and the pair’s three children thanks to Instagram and interviews, the young couple most recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to share more about their family's story.

During their long chat, the trio's conversation segued into Lauren’s new book, Live in Love, which shares the story her life and family.

Kelly then asked the couple about little Willa Gray, Thomas and Lauren’s first daughter, who they adopted from Uganda when she was an infant.

"I’d always talked about adopting my whole life—my mom is actually adopted,” Lauren shared. After she met Willa Gray during a trip to Uganda, she knew it was meant to be.

Lauren recalled talking to Thomas on the phone the day she met Willa: "... I was like, ‘Honey, we’ve got to find her her forever home, I know that’s why I’m here—to get this girl to her home.'"

Naturally, Kelly—and everyone watching, probably—started tearing up over the heart-warming story. "I did my own makeup, and this is not waterproof!" Kelly joked. She shared that she understood the feeling of holding a child and knowing that your purpose in life is to love them.

And the chat only got sweeter when Thomas chimed in:

"When I talked to [Lauren] on the phone that night and she said that we need to find her a home, I literally—it was after a concert and I was going to bed, I was like, 'Well, we'll bring her home,'" Thomas said.

The sweetest family ever? We think so!
