KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 — Actor Zul Ariffin will be the focus of a new bachelor reality show called Pencuri Hati from December 9.

Produced by local entertainment streaming application, Sooka, the show will feature 13 female participants vying for Zul's heart.

Participants who win the weekly challenge will receive a special note and get to spend time with Zul, while the contestant with the lowest score will face elimination.

The reality show, which is produced in collaboration with Astro Productions, aims to highlight new trends targeted to the millennial generation, while ensuring the context of the show remains compatible with local cultural sensitivities.

Zul expressed his interest in participating in the show as he views it as a new challenge and experience in his career.

“The show's concept is exciting because it allows participants to get to know me as who I am and not as an actor.

“There are also various segments in the programme such as fitness, cooking, fashion, and hobbies that help the participants to get to know my personality more deeply.”

The show also features host and actress Sherry Alhadad as well as medical doctor and social media influencer Dr Shazril Shaharuddin who will be the mediator between Zul and the participants.

Sooka programming head Emarina Mohd Kamal said in a statement that they are happy to be the first local entertainment app to introduce a bachelor celebrity reality programme in Malaysia.

“The introduction of Pencuri Hati was based on positive feedback from our other original series.”

Emarina also noted that the selection of Zul for the reality show was based on his merit and qualifications as a professional actor.

“Despite the controversies in the past, we recognise that Zul’s accountability and maturity in dealing with issues where he shows true professional characteristics.”

Zul made headlines early this year after he uploaded a steamy scene on Instagram where he was seen carrying an actress in suggestive positions in his drama Perempuan Itu.

A total of 10 weekly episodes will go on Sooka's application starting next Friday.
