Thick Funnel Cloud Spins as Tornado Sweeps Through Central Illinois

A funnel cloud formed over a field in Greenfield, Illinois, as tornado-producing storms swept across the state on October 11.

Jason Vetter filmed video showing a funnel cloud spinning near his property. The tail of the cloud repeatedly touches down and retracts when it is sweeping the area.

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado formed over the nearby town of Wrights on Monday and caused damage to structures and vehicles. The National Weather Service in Lincoln said other tornadoes in the area were also confirmed. Credit: Jason Vetter via Storyful
