Thai night club fire kills at least 13

STORY: A fire at a night club in eastern Thailand has killed at least 13 people and injured 35, according to emergency services.

This video contains graphic images which some viewers may find disturbing.

Many of the wounded are said to be severely burned and police say the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Video obtained by Reuters shows people fleeing the building when the doorway erupts in flames.

It took place at the Mountain B night club at about one in the morning, about 110 miles southeast of Bangkok.

A witness told Thai television that she saw flames erupt above the stage during a music performance.

The disaster comes 13 years after a night club fire in Bangkok killed 66 people.

It was caused by pyrotechnics and, at the time, investigators found several safety breaches, official corruption, and lax attitudes toward safety at entertainment venues.
