The diver, Pichit Juenchaichana, said the net was found at a depth ranging from 13 to 22 metres. He also spotted nets at two more sites off the north-west side of Koh Losin. The nets were seen on June 11 and 13.
The Thai environment minister ordered authorities to clear away the nets and to set up measures to protect the reefs in the area, local media reported.
Koh Losin is about 72 km off the coast of Pattani province.
