KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has given the green light to the Terengganu Football Association (TFA) to use the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) as Terengganu FC team’s new home ground this season.
MFL deputy president Hishamuddin Abd Karim said the approval was given after the parent body was satisfied with the facilities and condition of the stadium, which exceeded the minimum requirements set.
As such he said works on the stadium were already in full swing as they prepare for the first Super League match between Terengganu and Perak this Saturday.
“Following an inspection by MFL officers on Feb 18, we received the approval to use the stadium as TFC’s new venue yesterday.
“So far, the field is in perfect condition but we still have to add the finishing touches to achieve quality results,” he told a press conference here today.

Meanwhile, Hishamuddin said TFA would also issue a total of 30,000 tickets for the first match between Terengganu and Perak, which is expected to be an intense match.
The tickets, priced at RM15 each will be sold at two locations namely over the counter at the stadium and at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah stadium here, beginning from 10 am on match day.
“We will create a family area at SSMZA for the comfort of those coming with their families to watch the game,” he said while reminding spectators to avoid littering and help keep the stadium clean.
He also hoped the ticket sales for the first Super League match at the SSMZA this year would surpass the sale recorded at last season’s league opening game between Pahang and TFC at Darul Makmur Stadium where 28,000 tickets were sold.
