Texas Residents Protest Against Proposed Voting Bills Outside AT&T's Dallas Headquarters

Protesters gathered outside the AT&T headquarters in Dallas, Texas, on April 8 to demand businesses speak out against proposed bills that they believe would suppress voters.

Footage shared by Dallas resident Jimmy Kalaj shows protesters holding signs saying “It’s about us” and “Black voters matter.” A voice is heard saying, “In Texas, voter suppression is going on in the name of voter integrity.”

If passed, the Senate bill 7 and House bill 6 would ban drive-thru voting and tighten mail-in ballot regulations, according to local media.

On Monday, local officials including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and county judges denounced the bills, according to local news reports. Credit: Jimmy Kalaj via Storyful
