A vehicle carrying four occupants plunged hundreds of feet off a cliff in California’s San Mateo County on Monday, January 2, according to Cal Fire.
Cal Fire said two adults and two minors were inside a Tesla when it veered off the cliff on Highway 1 at Devil’s Slide.
All four occupants were successfully rescued, Cal Fire said. “We were actually very shocked when we found survivable victims in the vehicle,” Battalion Chief Brain Pottenger said.
Two juveniles sustained moderate injuries while both adults were winched to safety according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). It was not immediately clear what caused the vehicle to go off the roadway. The incident was under investigation by the CHP. Credit: CAL FIRE CZU via Storyful
