KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 ― Two men have been arrested in Marang, Terengganu on suspicion of breaking and entering the house of Selangor Football Club defender Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee last month, Utusan Malaysia reported today.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the two suspects were aged 23 and 28 and apprehended after the Honda City car in which they were travelling was involved in road accident near Kilometer 23 on Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan in Marang on June 26, the same day Ahmad Khuzaimi’s house was burglarised.

He added that investigators discovered stolen items inside the car.

“Among the seized items were branded bags, mobile phones, laptops, motorcycles, and various other equipment, totaling an estimated RM55,000,” he was quoted as telling a news conference at the state police headquarters in Shah Alam.

Hussein said the two suspects have also been found involved in a series of robbery and burglary cases across Selangor, Terengganu, Pahang, and Melaka since early this year.

The case was investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.

Those convicted face a maximum jail term of five years and a fine; if they are also found to have stolen items, their jail sentence can be increased to 14 years.

For every subsequent offence, those found guilty can be punished with a fine or whipping.

Ahmad Khuzaimi's house was broken into while he was out for a training session at the Selangor Training Centre in Shah Alam on June 26.
