PUTRAJAYA, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Thanks to the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) three tents have been set up in front of the Perdana Putra building here, to provide convenience to media representatives working to gather updates on the political situation in the country.
Two of the tents have been erected at the main entrance, the usual route taken by the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and special guests, while another tent is located in front of the public entrance.
The tents along with chairs were provided after JPM senior deputy secretary-general Datuk Mohd Sallehhuddin Hassan came out to greet media personnel who had gathered at the two locations yesterday.
Mohd Sallehhuddin along with other JPM staff had also distributed packed nasi lemak and drinks as well as joined the media as they enjoyed the meal outside the building.
Some 60 personnel from various media agencies have been camping at the two entrances since yesterday, after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to to the appointment of Dr Mahathir as interim Prime Minister.

Apart from JPM several other companies as well as individuals have come forward to contribute food and drinks to members of the press.
Several media personnel when met expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture in setting up the tents which provided them shade from the scorching heat.
Sinar Harian journalist, Tuan Buqhairah Tuan Muhamad Adnan said it was thoughtful of JPM to provide the shelter for the media as they have to wait for long hours so as not to miss the latest developments.
RTM TV news presenter Mohd Faris Izzat Shaharuddin said the tents were a saviour as the long wait under the hot sun could be quite challenging in carrying out their task.
After Dr Mahathir entered the building at 8.25am today, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, its secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya and Bersatu Sabah president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili were seen arriving at the entrance.
The media had gathered at both entrances as early as 7.30am.
