Polish leaders levied fresh accusations against Belarus over the presence of migrants at its eastern border, drawing historic parallels as Poles celebrated Independence Day.
Footage released by the Polish Border Guard showed migrants gathered close to the town of Kuznica. The area has become a flashpoint in recent days, as Polish and European officials accused Minsk of funneling migrants to the frontier.
According to the Border Committee of Belarus, over 2,000 migrants were present along the country’s border with Poland. Lithuanian officials also estimated that upwards of 1,000 people had gathered along their own border with Belarus.
