Tennessee Officer Pulls Unconscious Driver From Burning Car

A police officer pulled the unconscious driver of a burning car to safety in Cookeville, Tennessee, footage released on September 29 shows.

The Cookeville Police Department said Officer David Baker responded to a crash shortly after midnight on September 27. Baker was joined by a paramedic, who told him a person was trapped in the vehicle. Baker used a seatbelt tool “to cut the driver’s seatbelt and pull the unconscious driver out of the burning vehicle to safety,” the department said.

The pair “showed great bravery by putting their own safety aside as they courageously took action to help save the life of the driver,” police said. Credit: Cookeville Police Department via Storyful
