Ten Hag 9-11 Solskjaer: 20 stats to prove Richard Keys is *actually* right about the Man Utd decline
In his first season in charge Erik ten Hag has won the League Cup with Manchester United, taken them to the FA Cup final, and barring something hilarious, back into the Champions League. Not bad, right?
WRONG! Not according to sage broadcaster Richard Keys, who reckons Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were all better, or Dwight Yorke, who crawled out of the woodwork to shed light on his old pal Ole having a “better record” than Ten Hag.
The Dutchman has now lost nine Premier League games in his first full season as United boss, more than Solskjaer did in both of his full campaigns at Old Trafford. Ipso facto – “better record”.
To call Keys and Yorke on their bullsh*t we dug through some stats*, and sorry folks (we don’t want to live in this world either), they’re right: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unequivocally a better football manager than Erik ten Hag.
* We used stats from 2019/20 (Solskjaer’s first full season) vs 2022/23. Thanks to Fotmob and FBref.
