Curry had 24 points overall, while the Lakers’ LeBron James had 14 points and 10 assists in what was likely his final Olympics game.
Victor Wembanyama, the NBA Rookie of the Year this season, led the French team with 26 points.
Team USA basketball has won five gold medals in a row. Curry said that the experience “ranks up there” in terms of excitement. but admitted it was a “relief” to beat a gritty French team that battled all the way.
