Drunk teacher who took pupils to strip club banned from classrooms
A teacher has been banned from the profession after taking pupils to a strip club on a school trip, where he also exposed himself to a female colleague and threatened pupils while drunk.
Richard Glenn, 55, was head of sixth form at Longridge Towers School when he accompanied a number of sixth form pupils on a trip to Costa Rica in July 2019.
During the trip he drank with pupils and made inappropriate comments to them, including threatening one, saying: "I’m going to kick your f***ing head in" as well as telling one, "I’ll f***ing kill you".
He also took pupils to a strip club and then acted aggressively towards a female leader of the trip when she tried to help him get back into his tent, a professional misconduct panel heard.
He also exposed himself to the female leader of the trip in their shared hotel room.

The Teaching Regulation Agency panel heard that Glenn, who worked for the school near Berwick-on-Tweed from September 2007 until he was sacked in August 2019 after the trip, joined the pupils on the trip to Costa Rica between 5 July and 11 July that year.
On 11 July the school's headteacher received a call from the external expedition company leading the trip telling him that Glenn was being sent back to the UK due to his behaviour.
After several meetings discussion the allegations about his behaviour, Glenn accepted them at a disciplinary hearing on 9 August, 2019 and was dismissed on the grounds of gross misconduct.
The school referred him to the Teaching Regulation Agency which has now banned Glenn from teaching indefinitely, though he can apply for the decision to be reviewed in three years.
The panel found that the allegations were proved and that Glenn's behaviour amounted to unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that could bring the profession into disrepute.
It recommended that he is subject to a prohibition order, saying: "This means that Mr Richard Glenn is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.
"He may apply for the prohibition order to be set aside, but not until 16 April 2024, 3 years from the date of this order at the earliest. This is not an automatic right to have the prohibition order removed. If he does apply, a panel will meet to consider whether the prohibition order should be set aside.
"Without a successful application, Mr Richard Glenn remains prohibited from teaching indefinitely."
