Taylor Zakhar Perez Says He’s Not Dating "The Kissing Booth" Co-Star Joey King
Looks like our favorite The Kissing Booth couple isn't actually dating IRL.
In a new interview with Access, Taylor Zakhar Perez says that he's actually just really close friends with Joey King.
"I know, we went away this weekend for some friends’ birthdays, and her birthday, and everyone kinda freaked about it. I will say that we are not dating," he said.
"We just became really close during filming, but then we became even closer after filming because we live really close to each other," he continued. "I think we’re like a three or four minute drive from each other. We’re kind of each other’s accountability partners during quarantine. So we got to hang out, make sure that we weren’t seeing anybody outside of the circle of people that we trusted."
The two co-stars have been sparking romance rumors ever since they got together to celebrate the release of The Kissing Booth 2. Taylor also opened up about his relationship with Joey in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying that cooking and some awkwardness brought them together.
"We just kind of hit it off. When we were in South Africa, we had dinner together. I cooked for her, she cooked for me. We just became kind of like the best of friends," Taylor revealed. "I’m sure it was odd for her to go back into a production with someone that she dated. And so me being this new castmate and Joel [Courtney] being there and Meganne [Young], we kind of just all meshed really well together."
He says that despite what everyone else believes, they're just really good friends.
"I love her. I love her dearly. I’d do anything for her. We’re not dating. I’ll end it with that."
At least we'll always ship them on The Kissing Booth.
