Taylor Swift Announces Her Eras Tour Will End This December

The end of *the* era.

To quote Taylor Swift herself, "Is this the end of all the endings?" That's right—the pop star has officially announced that her eras era is almost over.

Much to the devastation of Swifties everywhere, who undoubtedly hoped to exchange friendship bracelets and worship at the altar of Swift forever, the singer made the announcement that her record-breaking Eras Tour will end on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada while on stage at her 100th show in Liverpool last night.

“You know, this is actually the 100th show of the tour,” Swift began in a moment captured in a fan video. “That blows my mind. That doesn’t feel like a real statistic to me, because this has definitely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour, these moments with you."

She went on to explain that she was finally able to admit to both herself and her fans that the epic tour would, eventually, have to come to an end. “You know, a lot of you were like, ‘Well, how are you going to celebrate the 100th show?'" she said. "And for me, the celebration of the 100th show means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December. Like, that’s it.”

In other words, she won't be adding any more dates to the tour and her final show will take place on December 8 at Vancouver's BC Place.

Swift continued to reflect on the historic tour.

“That feels so far away from now," she said, referencing her finale date in December, "but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour."

She went on, "This tour has really become my entire life. It’s taken over everything. I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore because all I do when I’m not onstage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mash-ups and think about what you might want to hear. So when I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming of being back on the stage with you guys.”

The Eras Tour began last year on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona. The epic three-hour show features over 40 songs, 12 costume changes and all 11 of the singer's "eras," including a new segment dedicated to her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Training for the show was, Swift told Time, "harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.”

The tour has smashed records, becoming the highest grossing tour ever mounted by a musician. It has also seen Swift rise to new heights in the industry—since starting the tour, she has been named Time's Person of the Year, achieved billionaire status and released the highest-ever grossing concert film.

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, Eras Tour. You truly were bigger than the whole sky.
