A major storm system fed by moisture from the Pacific dumped over a half foot of rain in parts of Sonoma and Napa counties in California on Sunday, October 24, with more precipitation forecast for the remainder of the day. Both counties are home to vineyards that are part of the state’s renowned Wine Country. Significant rainfall was recorded elsewhere in the Bay Area and farther inland. Several feet of snow were forecast at higher elevations in the Sierra Nevada. The precipitation is a welcome respite from California’s state-wide drought, which has been particularly acute in northern parts of the state. But authorities warned that the intense rainfall could cause mudslides in areas burnt by forest fires in recent years. This footage, taken in Kenwood, California, shows Sonoma Creek swollen by rain on Sunday. Staff can be seen at Barclays Center’s main entrance holding members of the crowd at bay. Other video shows demonstrators holding signs that said “STAND WITH KYRIE,” and messages expressing opposition to COVID-19 vaccinations.Irving, the Nets starting point guard, is one of the highest profile American athletes to turn down a vaccine, and is currently the the only NBA player unable to suit up for games, due to his opposition and local laws. New York City’s vaccinate mandate requires at least one vaccination shot for entry to public gyms, which Barclays Center is considered. Rock ‘n’ roll bands, we’re told, are the closest and most combative of families. They come up in the world together, they eat and sleep and ride a tour bus together, they haunt the recording studio together, they become experts in how to manipulate (and shield themselves from) the media together, and, in a funny […]

See what the stars of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street,' 'The Blair Witch Project,' and other horror classics are up to now. Starring in a horror movie is a lot of work. Between the countless hours of screaming, running, crying, night shoots, and being covered in sticky Hollywood blood, it's high time we give horror film actors their fair props.
It wasn’t directly timed to the Halloween season, but Phoebe Bridgers’ concert Friday night at the Greek in L.A included what surely had to be the most terrifying moment that will occur at any rock show this year… and one that’s presumably been repeated nightly on the singer-songwriter’s current tour, which comes to a close […]

Dan Wetzel, Pete Thamel and SI's Pat Forde go around the nation to recap the week 8 college football slate. The trio begins in the ACC where the Pitt Panthers were never tested against Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. What can the Tigers do to turn it around quickly and can Kenny Pickett make a run at the Heisman trophy? We had a 9 overtime Big Ten showdown that saw Illinois take down #7 Penn State on the road. Can we change the OT rules back already? The guys also hand out their weekly Heisman trophy awards before trying to say something nice... finally.
