Taskmaster legends Ed Gamble and Phil Wang are set to take part in a free Instagram show to raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), as the nation remains in self-isolation.

The 'Friday Night Lock-In' will take place this evening (April 3) from 5pm to midnight, and will see an array of comedians, musicians and TV stars try to raise spirits as well as money for the charity.

Hosted by Vick Hope, the event will see acts go live on their own Instagram profiles, including Ed and Phil hosting a cook-along and Love Island stars Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay overseeing a pub quiz.

There will also be stand-up from Mark Watson, as well as musical performances from Declan Mckenna, Arlo Parks, Joy Crookes and Olly Alexander from Years and Years.

Love Island's Kem Cetinay is a CALM ambassador and said: "It's more important for people to stay connected to the habits and activities they love to do at this time – we all love a Friday night, so having some great entertainment to kick-start your weekend should definitely be a priority."

The event aims to "provide an evening of free entertainment for a nation stuck indoors", and takes place at the period of time that CALM's helplines are open to those who are struggling.

"In these unprecedented, uncertain times, people are needing CALM and our services more than ever," said CALM CEO Simon Gunning.

"This is why we want to give people a fun evening to help them take a break from all that's happening, but also remind them that we are here should they need us.

"CALM's free and confidential helpline and webchat are available from 5pm to midnight, 7 days a week so if all this is getting too much then please get in touch. We're here for everyone, no matter what."
