Beauty lovers, the wait is over! Tarte’s iconic Shape Tape Concealer is finally available to shop in Canada, and you’re not going to want to miss out on the launch.
Retailing for $38 at Sephora, Canadians will now be able to get their hands on the number one concealer brand in the United States — in fact, Shape Tape is so popular that one tube is sold every 12 seconds.
Shape Tape offers 35 shades of vegan, full coverage, flawless matte concealer, and it’s also formulated with Tarte’s exclusive tape technology, which is made up of smoothing ingredients to give skin a firmer, lifted, more youthful look. Its waterproof formula also features plant butters to smooth and hydrate, plus licorice root extract to brighten dull skin and dark circles.

Ahead of its Canadian launch, I had a chance to put the cult classic concealer to the test, and it’s safe to say that it lives up to its hype.
I struggle with dark under-eye circles due to genetics, and found that just a few dabs of Shape Tape were enough to fake a full eight hours of beauty sleep. Like the reviews said, it feels incredibly light on the skin, but I wasn’t one of the lucky few who didn’t experience any creasing.
Simply due to the shape of my features and the more matte finish of the concealer, I did find that it creased under my eyes, but a primer did help slightly with the end result. It also lasted throughout the day, even after getting trapped in the rain while walking my dog.

Since I'm still working from home and opting for lighter makeup in my daily routine, I probably won't be reaching for Shape Tape every day. That said, it's definitely worth investing in if you're someone who is still rocking a full face of makeup — something I'm looking forward to doing for my next special event.
