Following the murder of 46-year-old black man George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of the police, numerous HGTV celebrities joined the chorus of voices speaking out on social media. Among them are Drew and Jonathan Scott, Christina Anstead, and Joanna Gaines. Flip or Flop star Tarek El Moussa also joined the conversation by expressing his thoughts on the incident: "What happened to George Floyd is the most disgusting act I’ve seen," he wrote on Instagram on Monday.

In the photo he posted, El Moussa poses with his girlfriend Heather Rae Young, and his two children Taylor and Brayden. He begins the caption by writing "What’s happening in the world is awful!" El Moussa then outlines his thoughts on how change can be made. “Change comes with accountability,” he writes. “How do we create accountability? I think it starts with law enforcement."

Like many who have been protesting over the past few days, El Moussa believes that law enforcement should be held accountable for their actions. He particularly calls out officers who witness crimes being committed by other officers and don't do anything. "All the officers that witnessed this [referring to the death of Floyd] should be held accountable. They should be put in prison for the maximum term," he writes. "Real prison time and real consequences."

As of now, only one officer, Derek Chauvin, has been arrested, on a charge of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The three other officers who were present at the scene have not faced any charges. (Over 65,000 people have signed a Change.org petition to arrest the other three officers).

El Moussa ends his post with a vow to uphold Floyd's memory. "I’m so sorry this happened and the world is hurting. This day will never be forgotten," he wrote.
