Tao Xinran shares the meaning of being a mother
9 Feb – Tao Xinran recently posted a long message on social media, as she reflected on being a mother while also juggling her acting career.
The "Legend of Zhen Huan" actress shared a photo of her holding her child's hand on Weibo on 8 February, and revealed that she had just returned home from work when her daughter asked her, "Why do you have so many skincare products? I don't want you to work. I just want my mother to be with me."
To that, Tao said, she responded, "Because I love my job."
"She asked again, 'Do you love work more or me more?', so I said, 'These two kinds of love are completely different. You can't and don't need to put them together and choose one or the other. Mummy loves you so much, and she hopes to be a good example. You can't just love yourself without improving yourself," she wrote.
Tao said that a mother to her is not just about loving one's child, but also to be brave and diligent – to be someone who will fight for their children on their own and at the same time become a one-person battalion for them.
The actress, who tied the knot with actor He Jianze, gave birth to their first daughter in 2016.
