At least 14 people have died and 65,000 are without power after floods in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on Friday, November 12, The Indian Express reported.
Major roads and neighbourhoods were flooded as overnight rains lashed Chennai for over 15 hours on Thursday. The floods delayed rail operations and halted flight arrivals for six hours, the paper said.
India’s Meteorological Department forecast continued heavy rain in the southeast of the country through to Sunday as a low-pressure system moves in from the Bay of Bengal.
