The Talk Preps for the End With Parodies of Seinfeld, Sopranos and Newhart Finales — Watch
The Talk kicked off its last full week of episodes Monday by taking us on a journey through series finales past.
The episode began with a cold open starring hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood. As the group pondered how they should “land the plane,” Gbaja-Biamila proposed “a Seinfeld thing,” prompting a cut-scene with the hosts behind bars discussing “the deal with buttons on shirts” and pontificating about being too pretty for jail.

The next mini-segment brought the hosts to that infamous diner scene from The Sopranos series closer, as the gang snacked on onion rings before — what else? — the screen swiftly cut to black. The clip ended with a nod to Newhart, only this time, the hosts were grossed out by O’Connell sleeping in the buff. (For what it’s worth, Underwood was into it! The long-running daytime chat show will air its series finale Friday, Dec. 20, at 2/1c. This week, all five hosts will be on hand for a series of “big holiday giveaways” as they inch toward the finish line. CBS notes that The Talk will have gifted more than $2.5 million in giveaways throughout the month of December by the time it wraps for good.
As previously reported, The Talk will be replaced by Beyond the Gates, daytime’s first new soap opera in a quarter-century, which will premiere Monday, Feb. 24, 2025. (See the full cast here.) Prior to that, CBS will air encore episodes of The Price Is Right in The Talk’s vacant time slot.
