Taliban fighters enjoy an amusement park

Friday's (November 5) day trip to the sandy shores of the capital's Qargha reservoir was welcomed by the fighters, following months of conflict and security duty since the Taliban took power in mid-August.

The fighters, most of whom were heavily armed at the park, joined locals to try the amusement rides, which included a pirate ship, a flying carousel, and horse riding.

Most of the fighters had never been to Kabul until the Taliban took control of the capital on August 15, and some were eager to visit the amusement park before returning to their duties around the country.
