Syrian artists paint 'strokes of hope' in quake-hit Jandaris

STORY: Two Syrian artists travelled to the city to leave messages of thanks to those who showed solidarity with the Syrian people by helping and sending aid to the afflicted city, but also to those who "let them down".

A large heart painted in bright red sits in stark contrast to the grey of where once a building stood.

Around 4,525 deaths have been reported in northwest Syria, according to the United Nations. The area is controlled by insurgents at war with President Bashar al-Assad, which is complicating aid efforts.
