STORY: For 23 nights, the iconic Sydney Opera House and other landmarks will be immersed in a sea of colors, with artworks inspired by Australia's landscape and First Nations culture.
New Zealand tourist Paul Hickey said he was excited to be back in Australia experiencing the lights, first coming to Vivid eight years ago.
"It's just got better and better... the vibrancy of it, the color of it, the explosiveness of it," he told Reuters.
The festival attracted over 2.4 million domestic and international visitors in 2019 and is Australia's largest event.
This year's festival will feature over 200 events spread across 11 locations through the city, including an 8km continuous light walk.
