Syazlin Zainal pronounced dead after a 22-storey fall
11 Nov – Syazlin Zainal was pronounced dead after falling from a 22-floor apartment building in Johor Bahru's Taman Iskandar.
According to Johor Bahru southern district Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, the case was reported to them at 12.50 in the afternoon on 11 November, with the caller saying that they found a lifeless body of a woman on the ground level of the said building.
"The death was determined to be a fall from the 22nd floor. The victim was pronounced dead by a medical officer from Sultanah Aminah Hospital," he added.
Initial investigations showed no criminal nature in the case and classified it as sudden and unattended death (SDR).
However, the Assistant Commissioner expressed hope that anybody with information regarding the incident can contact the police at +6016-5050808.
The young actress's death surprised many celebrity friends, including actress Elisya Sandha, who wrote, "I've lost my words. I have shot a drama with you before, and not once have I ever seen you not without a smile. You were the sweetest. You always gave me your sweetest smile. I appreciate that, Syazlin. Can't believe what I've heard."
Syazlin, who was a part-time actress, had been in various dramas that include, "Dia Yang Ku Jadikan Suami" and "Takdir Yang Tertunda". She was 26.
