Swedish content creator PewDiePie to take a break from YouTube ahead of birth of first child (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — Popular YouTuber PewDiePie has announced he will be taking a break from the platform with a significant life event on the horizon.

The Swedish content creator whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg made the announcement in a YouTube video recently as he is taking a big leap from vlogging into fatherhood ahead of welcoming his first baby with his wife Marzia Kjellberg.

The video titled Saying bye for a while now featured some of his recent travel around Japan before concluding the video by announcing he would be stepping away from YouTube for a while.

"It’s getting very close to becoming a dad and I’m very excited.

"I don’t know what’s going to be like or if I’ll have time to do videos but for now we will be taking a break until we come back again.”

The video has so far garnered over 4.3 million views with many fans pouring well-wishes for him and his wife.

In February, the YouTuber announced he is set to become a dad, sparking an outpouring of joy from his fans.

Felix also announced in another recent video that Marzia’s due date is sometime this month.

The 33-year-old debuted on YouTube in 2010 and over the years has become one of the most popular content creators on the platform.

Today he has over 111 million subscribers and his videos garner millions of views.
